The Director, DEIJ Program Design is a full-time exempt position that will support our national programming strategy while driving local impact. We are open to applicants from all locations throughout the US and currently have hubs in the Bay Area, Los Angeles, Denver, Chicago, and New York City. Due to COVID-19, all UpStart staff are currently working remotely until at least June 2021.
The role of the Director, DEIJ Program Design will be an integral part of UpStart’s Program Team and Learning and Design Team, working across the departments to both support the refinement of our current programming to align with DEIJ best practices, while also creating and facilitating new programming and equity-informed entrepreneurship opportunities.

We are seeking a talented program manager, researcher, designer, and teacher—passionate and knowledgeable about programming that lifts up diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice as core values. We are looking for someone who is a co-creator, self-starter, and willing to adapt and change as we go. We would also be thrilled to find someone with the following skills, knowledge, and abilities:
The salary range for this position is from $75,000-$90,000, depending on experience. In addition to salary, UpStart offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, matching 401K, FSA, and an annual professional development stipend.
