Kate Holsapple, Secretary, is an active part of the Jewish community no matter where she calls home. She began her Jewish leadership experiences after completing Las Vegas Federation’s Springboard Leadership program. In Pittsburgh, while attending graduate school at Carnegie Mellon’s Tepper School of Business, she completed the Pittsburgh Federation’s Wechsler Leadership Program and served a term on the Allocations committee, while also volunteering closely with JFCS’s refugee program. In Louisville she was an active participant with YAD and served on the Federation’s Super Sunday committee. Since moving to Pacifica in 2015, Kate has continued to volunteer through YAD, but has been most active in JFCS’s Chicken Soupers program, preparing and delivering meals for local individuals two Sundays every month. In 2016 she joined the Federation Fellows program, where she’s been able to use her professional experiences in Human Resources and from IDEO to benefit UpStart through individual coaching, screening accelerator program applicants, and conducting an HR-focused webinar. Professionally, Kate has an analytical mind with a passion for people. She started her career in hospitality working in Revenue Management for Casinos in Las Vegas and Atlantic City. Realizing her devotion to culture and people development, she transitioned into Human Resources and completed various work experiences with Walt Disney Studios, GE and IDEO. Currently she is the HR Leader for Certain, Inc., an event automation software company in San Francisco. Her personal pursuits involve her dog, stand-up paddleboarding, hiking, traveling, and, of course, volunteering.
